Ultherapy Cost: What Affects the Price?
Ultherapy prices vary between clinics, which makes comparisons confusing. The main factors are the area treated, the lines delivered at each depth, anesthesia, and the use of genuine equipment and tips. Check whether the plan includes the lines your face needs, rather than comparing the total price alone.
What affects the price of Ultherapy?
The treatment focuses ultrasound at selected depths to create tiny thermal coagulation points. New collagen forms as the tissue heals, supporting a lift. Energy requirements differ between a full face and selected areas such as the jawline or eyes, and with how lines are allocated across 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5 mm. The choice of topical anesthesia or sedation and use of the latest PRIME system also affect cost. We can answer “How many lines do I need?” only after assessing skin thickness and the layer where sagging begins.

Why does the number of treatment lines matter?
Ultrasound lifting is measured in treatment lines: each line creates a row of thermal points. Expert consensus on microfocused ultrasound with visualization recommends using imaging to choose transducers and depths and to plan the count at each depth, noting that denser treatment produced better results. It also recommends age-adjusted intervals, with more frequent maintenance for older patients. Simply increasing the count is not the answer. One Thermage patient appreciated being advised that more pulses are not automatically better; the same principle applies to Ultherapy.
These factors influence cost and are worth discussing at consultation.
| Factor | What changes | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Treatment area | Full face, jawline, eyes, neck, or other selected areas | Does the plan cover all your concerns? |
| Line count | Energy delivered at each depth | Will the clinic explain the count for each area? |
| Transducers | Combination of 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5 mm depths | Are depths selected after assessing tissue thickness? |
| Anesthesia | Numbing cream or sedation | Is sedation available if pain worries you? |
| Authenticity | Genuine device and tips | Is a genuine-treatment certificate issued? |
Why is a price list alone not enough?
The same price can cover very different line counts and depth combinations. Thick cheek tissue and thin eye-area skin need different depths, and laxity also changes the required count. Imaging helps identify variation within one face. This ultrasound lift often suits a blurred jawline or deeper nasolabial and marionette folds, and patients whose previous lifting results faded quickly. A systematic review of 16 studies found investigator-assessed improvement in firmness or wrinkles in 92% at day 90, but poorer results with severe laxity or BMI above 30. We therefore do not recommend it alone for severe sagging. A plan suited to your face matters more than price.
Why verify authenticity?
Ultrasound devices do not all perform alike. Independent testing discussed in an expert consensus compared imaging-equipped Ultherapy with three other ultrasound devices. Only Ultherapy had imaging, with uniform thermal-point size and accurate energy focus. The experts concluded that live imaging and coupling detection help prevent complications. Patients should be able to confirm that genuine equipment and tips were used.
Does anesthesia affect the price?
Yes. The same systematic review described moderate pain. PRIME's revised energy delivery and handpiece design reduced discomfort and treatment time compared with the previous system. It remains among the more uncomfortable lifting procedures, so sedation is available for patients concerned about bony areas such as the cheekbones or jaw. Others choose numbing cream alone. One first-time PRIME patient said their jawline began to feel lifted after a few days. Treatment takes around 30–90 minutes, depending on the area and line count.
How does Dong-An Joongsim Clinic set the plan and price?
At Dong-An Joongsim Clinic, your doctor personally conducts your consultation and treatment. We are a certified Ultherapy clinic, and our officially certified doctors select the depths and line counts for each face.
Ultherapy PRIME uses DeepSEE real-time imaging to check tissue thickness during treatment. You can choose numbing cream or sedation, and you receive a genuine-treatment certificate afterward. We have used Thermage and Ultherapy for more than 10 years, dating back to the CPT era. Dr. Chang-Hwan Cho, Dr. Soyoun Koo, and Dr. Jinhyung Lee attended the 2026 Ultherapy PRIME AURA Grand Symposium together. When fine lines and dermal firmness are also concerns, we may add Thermage as UlThermage; combined treatment changes the cost. For the anatomy behind jowls and marionette lines, see Dr. Cho's column on lower-face aging for more information.
What should you know when comparing prices?
When results appear and how long they last vary with age, skin thickness, sagging, and line count. Results build over months as collagen forms, so changes in the cheeks and jawline are better judged over time than on the day of treatment. Swelling and soreness may last 1–2 days, with tenderness generally settling within days. You can wash your face and wear makeup the same day, but avoid excessive massage. Avoid hot saunas, heat treatments, and strenuous exercise for a week.
Ultherapy pricing: common questions
How should I choose an Ultherapy clinic in Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul?
Check that the clinic is a certified provider, that a doctor personally plans the depths and line counts, and that a genuine-treatment certificate is issued. We are a 5-minute walk from Exit 5 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station.
Can I compare prices by line count?
Line count matters, but also compare how many lines go to each depth. Identical totals can produce different results with different depth combinations.
What is a genuine-treatment certificate?
It confirms that your treatment used genuine equipment and tips. We issue one after the procedure.
How often should Ultherapy be repeated?
Your doctor reassesses your skin with ultrasound and takes into account how long collagen renewal continues before planning the next session.
