Treat texture and pigment
together with a
hybrid laser

HALO from Sciton in the USA was the world's first hybrid fractional laser. It simultaneously delivers an ablative wavelength that vaporizes a very thin layer of the surface and a nonablative wavelength that heats the dermis without opening the epidermis.

The surface wavelength treats texture, pores and age spots. The dermal wavelength supports collagen and elastin production to address wrinkles, firmness, deeper pigmentation and acne. Delivering both together reduces the need for repeated separate treatments and their associated pigmentation risk, allowing more intensive treatment when appropriate.

Smoother texture, refined pores and fewer spots

Skin texture

Smooths rough texture. The ablative wavelength creates microscopic columns in the epidermis, lightly resurfacing it so new skin can replace the treated areas.

Pores

Visibly tightens enlarged pores. The ablative wavelength refines the surface while the nonablative wavelength heats the dermis, stimulating collagen to support the skin around pores.

Melasma, dark spots and age spots

Fades pigment in both the epidermis and dermis. The shallower and deeper wavelengths address the two levels simultaneously.

Wrinkles and firmness

Softens fine lines and improves firmness. The nonablative wavelength heats the dermis without opening the epidermis, supporting collagen and elastin production.

Acne

Reduces acne for clearer skin. Heat reaching the dermis shrinks enlarged sebaceous glands, changing the conditions that contribute to breakouts.

More even tone

Creates a clearer, more even tone. Simultaneous wavelengths provide a toning effect while reducing the pigmentation risk associated with repeated separate treatments.

Texture and pore treatment, planned by your doctor
Your doctor controls both wavelengths

Laser resurfacing results depend on how treatment is planned and performed. We take time with every patient. A doctor handles your consultation and performs your treatment personally.

  1. Depth and coverage selected for your skin

This hybrid laser resurfaces the epidermis and heats the dermis in one treatment. Your doctor assesses texture, pores and pigmentation, then chooses the depth and coverage of each wavelength for your face.

  2. Your doctor handles both consultation and treatment

We take time with every patient. Your consultation and treatment are handled by a doctor; a patient coordinator only helps with pricing.

  3. Treating texture, spots and redness together

We offer both HALO and BBL Forever from Sciton. HALO treats texture and pores, while BBL Forever addresses dark spots and redness. They can be used on the same day.

Smoother, brighter skin: patient experiences

My skin was softer and brighter after healing

After HALO, my face felt hot and swollen, so recovery took more attention than I'd expected. Once the rough, flaky skin settled, my skin looked softer and brighter than before. I preferred the change after healing to how it looked immediately afterward.

The redness gradually settled

I tried HALO because my acne scars bothered me. My skin was swollen and red at first, but it gradually settled. One side looked a little better, while I still couldn't see much difference on the side with deeper scars. I'm moisturizing and watching how each area changes.

My texture looked smoother after a few days

What stood out with HALO was the heat afterward, more than the sensation during treatment. For a few days, swelling and rough, flaky skin made me reluctant to go out. Once that passed, my skin texture looked more even. I felt it was worth leaving plenty of time for recovery.

I'm seeing small changes

After HALO for scars, I kept wanting to touch my skin, but it felt rough and itchy, so I tried to leave it alone. As the redness and swelling eased, I began seeing small changes in some areas. I think the deeper scars need more time before I can judge them.

How a hybrid fractional laser works
Your doctor explains how it works

How do the wavelengths work together? Treatment of the epidermis and dermis takes place in four stages. An experienced doctor examines your skin and selects the depth and coverage of both wavelengths.

Illustration of the skin and underlying tissue
  1. Temperature measurement

The handpiece reads skin temperature and movement speed to adjust energy automatically.

  2. Resurfacing the epidermis

The ablative wavelength creates microscopic columns in the epidermis to refine texture and pores.

  3. Heating the dermis

The nonablative wavelength heats the dermis to stimulate collagen production.

  4. Rapid renewal

Limited damage to surrounding tissue allows the tiny treatment sites to heal quickly, improving texture and tone.

Common questions about texture and pore results
Answers from our doctors

How do I choose a HALO clinic in Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul?

HALO results depend on how treatment is planned and performed. Check whether a doctor handles consultation and treatment, whether genuine equipment and consumables are used, and whether treatments can be combined to suit your face. We take time with every patient, with a doctor leading your consultation and performing treatment personally.

Which concerns can HALO improve?

HALO addresses texture, pores, fine lines, firmness, pigmentation such as melasma, freckles and age spots, and acne. Texture and tone tend to improve first as the surface renews. Collagen changes within the dermis continue over time.

How much downtime does HALO involve?

Downtime is short, with little interruption to everyday activities. Manufacturer materials state that makeup can be applied the next day. Let any scabs fall off naturally.

Does the treatment hurt?

Numbing cream is applied before treatment. The dermal wavelength is readily absorbed by water and does not penetrate deeper than needed, which helps keep discomfort relatively low.

How many sessions will I need?

Manufacturer materials suggest that 1–2 sessions can give results approaching those of ablative laser treatment. Your doctor will recommend the number of sessions at your consultation.
