The stretch marks on my calves stand out less
I tried treatment for stretch marks on my calves that had been there since my teenage years. It still hurt despite the anesthesia, and there were red marks afterward. As they healed, the stretch marks looked less noticeable, though I can still see some up close. I see it as an improvement rather than a complete fix.

I hesitated because the stretch marks on my calves were so old. What I remember most after treatment is waiting for the redness to settle. It hurt on the day, and the marks were quite vivid, but over time the lines became less noticeable. I saw the biggest difference from a distance.

Aftercare
- Avoid prolonged sauna and steam-room use for the recommended period.
- Avoid outdoor exercise with prolonged sun exposure.
- Apply sunscreen to the treated area when outdoors.
- Do not pick at scabs or peeling skin.
- The clinic may recommend a multivitamin containing vitamin C during treatment.
- Redness, bruising and reduced skin sensation may occur and usually settle within 1–2 weeks.
- After treatment over a large area, pay particular attention to moisturizing.
- You may feel temporary firmness or coolness right after treatment.

What causes stretch marks?

Can older, white stretch marks improve?

Do you use the same approach for men?
Yes. Men may develop stretch marks on the arms, flanks or thighs during growth, rapid weight changes or muscle gain. The underlying process is the same. We choose a combination based on how long the marks have been present and the skin’s firmness.
When will I see changes?

What does the 1565 nm ResurFX laser do?
The 1565 nm ResurFX laser is nonablative and fractional: it delivers microscopic zones of heat to the dermis without removing the skin’s surface. This stimulates collagen renewal, while contact cooling helps keep the skin comfortable. Coverage and density are adjusted to the depth and width of the marks and your skin’s condition.
Are postpartum belly changes and stretch marks treated the same way?
After childbirth, the abdomen may change because of fat, loose skin and stretch marks together. Reducing fat and treating stretch marks in the dermis are different goals, so we assess each cause and plan treatments accordingly. Timing also depends on your recovery after childbirth and whether you are breastfeeding.
