A thread lift
with smoother cheek contours and
less unwanted width

DOOTH is a newer PDO thread lift. Its patented barb design anchors securely within the tissue for a strong lift. Repositioning tissue also gently restores fullness to hollow areas, bringing back more defined facial contours.

With conventional threads, controlling the direction and strength of the lift can be difficult, sometimes making the outer cheekbones look more prominent. DOOTH combines conventional barbs with T-shaped barbs. The direction and tension are planned to avoid emphasizing the cheekbones and create a smoother, more natural lift.

What a thread lift can do

Sagging skin and jowls

Lifts sagging skin and jowls immediately. Fine barbs engage the underlying tissue and raise it in the planned direction.

Nasolabial folds and lines around the mouth

Softens nasolabial folds and lines around the mouth. The front of the thread lifts while the back anchors, smoothing out folds caused by sagging tissue.

Jawline

Creates a more defined jawline and facial contours. Different shapes at the front and back of the thread hold tissue securely without knots.

Restoring volume

Gently restores fullness to hollow areas. As the threads lift displaced tissue, areas that looked empty regain natural volume.

Facial contouring

Lifts facial contours more smoothly. The combination of conventional and T-shaped barbs is placed along vectors that avoid emphasizing the outer cheekbones.

Collagen production

Firmness continues after the threads dissolve. As PDO breaks down, new collagen forms around it to support the lifted tissue.

A thread lift planned by your doctor
Lifting vectors chosen for your facial contours

Thread lift results depend on how treatment is planned and performed. We take time with every patient. A doctor handles your consultation and performs your treatment personally.

  1. Teaching thread lifts to international doctors

In 2024, Dr. Chang-Hwan Cho taught fillers and thread lifts to visiting doctors from Russia. He draws on that experience to plan the direction and tension of each patient's lift.

  2. Accurate placement and carefully chosen lifting vectors

Placing the threads precisely in the SMAS layer helps reduce discomfort and dimpling. Your doctor plans the lift to avoid emphasizing the cheekbones, then uses the patented T-shaped barbs to raise sagging tissue.

  3. Your doctor handles both consultation and treatment

We take time with every patient. Your consultation and treatment are handled by a doctor; a patient coordinator only helps with pricing.

Thread lifts: patient experiences

My jaw looks more defined

I tried a thread lift because my double chin and indistinct jawline bothered me. I was nervous at first, but the explanation helped me relax. I had swelling afterward, and as it gradually settled, my jaw started to look more defined to me.

My cheeks and jawline look lifted

I had a thread lift for sagging cheeks and noticeable lines around my mouth. Being able to check the shape in a mirror during treatment helped me see what was changing. Afterward, there was some swelling, but my cheeks and jawline looked lifted. I liked how much more defined they looked.

My double chin gradually looked better

After the thread lift, I waited for the swelling to settle rather than judging the result right away. The double chin and jawline that had bothered me gradually looked a little more defined. I liked seeing my facial contours settle into a natural shape.

My lower face looks more defined

I had a thread lift for sagging around my jaw, nasolabial folds and lines around my mouth. They numbed the area first and kept checking on me, which helped me relax. I had swelling afterward, but addressing my cheeks and jawline together made my lower face look more defined.

How a thread lift works
Your doctor explains how it works

How can dissolving threads provide a lasting lift? An immediate mechanical lift is followed by collagen formation. A doctor who has taught thread lifting internationally plans the direction and tension for your face.

Illustration of the skin and underlying tissue
  1. Immediate lift

Fine barbs grip the tissue securely and lift it immediately.

  2. Anchoring in two directions

The front of the thread lifts while the back anchors, holding tissue without knots.

  3. Maintaining the hold

T-shaped barbs retain anchoring strength even as their tips dissolve, helping the lift last.

  4. Collagen production

PDO breaks down and is cleared after around 6 months, with collagen forming in its place.

Thread lifts: side effects, results and pricing
Answers from our doctors

How do I choose a thread lift clinic in Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul?

Thread lift results depend on how treatment is planned and performed. Check whether a doctor handles consultation and treatment, whether genuine equipment and materials are used, and whether treatments can be combined to suit your face. We take time with every patient, with a doctor leading your consultation and performing the treatment personally.

How does a thread lift work?

Barbs on dissolving threads engage the underlying tissue and physically lift it. Collagen then forms as the threads dissolve. DOOTH combines patented T-shaped and conventional barbs. The front of each thread lifts while the back anchors, holding tissue without knots.

What types of thread lift are available?

Threads differ by material, such as PDO, PLLA or PCL, and by design, such as smooth or barbed threads. DOOTH uses PDO with a combination of conventional and T-shaped barbs. We select Dream, True or Short threads according to the area and the anchoring strength needed.

How long does the lift last, and do the threads stay in the body?

The lift is most noticeable immediately after treatment and usually lasts 9–12 months or longer. The T-shaped barbs retain their hold as the tips dissolve. PDO threads gradually break down after about 6 months and are cleared through the urine, while new collagen forms where the threads were placed.

How long does swelling last after a thread lift?

You may have temporary bruising, swelling and awareness of the threads, which usually ease within a few days. Avoiding saunas, steam rooms, strenuous exercise and firm rubbing for a week helps recovery.

What side effects can a thread lift cause?

A common issue is dimpling, where the skin puckers slightly near a thread. If it occurs, it can be smoothed out with measures such as massage right after treatment. DOOTH's T-shaped barbs have a broad tissue-contact area and a pressure-relieving design, so you tend to feel the threads less. Accurate placement at the intended depth helps reduce pain and discomfort.

Can I have thread lifts repeatedly?

PDO threads dissolve and are cleared over about 6 months. Repeat treatment is best considered as the previous threads dissolve and the lift fades. More threads can also make them easier to feel, so your doctor considers the timing of your previous treatment and the degree of sagging when choosing the number of threads and the interval.

How is a thread lift priced?

The price depends on the thread range, number of threads and areas treated. More threads are not necessarily better; the amount should suit your face. Your doctor assesses sagging and plans treatment before we discuss cost.

Will my cheekbones look wider or my expressions look unnatural?

With DOOTH, the direction and tension of the lift are planned to avoid emphasizing the outer cheekbones. The flexible design moves with your face, for a smoother lift and natural expressions.

Is a thread lift suitable for everyone?

No. Prominent salivary glands, very thick skin or severe sagging may make other treatments more appropriate. Your doctor will assess this at your consultation.
