HILO WAVE Record for Most Treatments in the Shortest Time: Dr. Chang-Hwan Cho on Clinician Confidence

Dr. Chang-Hwan Cho reported performing a high number of HILO WAVE treatments in a short period, expanding his experience with the hyaluronic acid-based biostimulator.
Dr. Cho explained that HILO WAVE combines low- and high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid in a dual structure (DHC), designed to support biological activity and persistence within the extracellular matrix (ECM). He described its use as a biostimulator for collagen remodeling. He also noted that, because it is HA-based, hyaluronidase can be used if nodules develop. In his view, this offers a wider safety margin and greater predictability than some other biostimulators, helping clinicians feel more confident when planning repeat treatments.
Dr. Cho identified uneven distribution as an important cause of nodules and emphasized distributing small amounts evenly across multiple injection points. He described placement in the immediate subdermal plane as an approach to improving both skin texture and tissue structure, with early hydration and texture changes followed by collagen remodeling through an inflammatory response. He added that a cannula or needle may be chosen according to the patient’s tolerance for pain and downtime, while even distribution remains central to the technique.
He also discussed combinations with Rejuran, Re2O and JUVÉLOOK, as well as energy-based treatments such as ONDA lifting and Soprano Titanium. These combinations, he explained, may support improvements in skin structure and help maintain results.
