Titanium Lift: Who It Suits and How Long Results Last
The most common question about Titanium is, “Will it work for me?” With little discomfort or downtime, it fits easily into a busy schedule and can suit patients seeking both firmness and better tone. Deeper sagging or thick cheek fat, however, often needs another lifting method alongside it.
How does Titanium lifting work?

Alma's Soprano Titanium delivers three diode-laser wavelengths (755, 810, and 1064 nm) simultaneously. SHR mode heats the superficial dermis evenly, while STACK reaches fat and retaining-ligament tissue at 6–8 mm. We vary the mode by area. Sapphire cooling protects the surface, so treatment generally feels warm.
It tightens skin with heat, a principle shared by other devices. A 2011 review explains that RF, ultrasound, and light-based devices heat the dermis to contract collagen, followed by longer-term new collagen production.
How does it compare with other lifting treatments?
Our main lifting devices differ in energy, depth, and treatment experience.
| Device | Energy | Main treatment layer | Discomfort and anesthesia | Treatment time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Titanium lifting | Three-wavelength diode laser | Dermis at 3–4 mm; fat and retaining ligaments at 6–8 mm | Minimal discomfort; no anesthesia needed | Within 30 minutes |
| Ultherapy PRIME | Focused ultrasound | 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5 mm, reaching the fascia | Numbing cream or sedation | 30–90 minutes |
| Thermage FLX | Monopolar radiofrequency | Dermis | Numbing cream | 40 minutes to 1 hour |
| ONDA skin tightening | 2.45 GHz microwaves | Dermis and fat; facial depths of 3 mm and 7 mm | Numbing cream | 15–30 minutes |
The laser's main practical advantage is low discomfort and little recovery time. A 2007 paper on infrared dermal heating likewise explains that epidermal cooling can allow treatment without anesthesia.
Who benefits most from a low-discomfort laser lift?
We often recommend it for pain-sensitive patients and those preparing for a wedding or photo shoot who want contour improvement without swelling. Because no time is needed for anesthesia, treatment finishes within 30 minutes and patients can go straight to an appointment. For a shoot the next day, it can form part of a plan intended to improve appearance without redness or swelling. It also suits dull skin that has lost firmness, or treating the face and neck together. For lean cheeks at risk of hollowing, your doctor chooses between STACK and SHR for each area.
Titanium alone may be insufficient for a markedly blurred jawline, deep sagging, or thick cheek and jowl fat. We recommend planning deeper treatment from the start rather than repeatedly using the laser alone. A 2013 review also described RF and infrared tightening as relatively modest, with deeper approaches needed for moderate or greater laxity.
What results can you expect, and how long do they last?
Initial changes are usually felt in firmness and contour. Tone, texture, and pores improve through the course, which is why we generally recommend three sessions 3–4 weeks apart. Duration varies with skin thickness, age, and sagging. A 2014 review likewise identified age, laxity, smoking, and BMI as factors affecting tightening outcomes.
What can be added when fat or deeper sagging is the concern?
When fat also needs treatment, we add ONDA skin tightening. The laser addresses skin while microwaves address fat; this combination is used at our clinic. ONDA settings need to match fat thickness and sagging, since using the same settings for everyone can limit visible results. Your doctor assesses both before choosing energy and handpieces.
For longer-term support, we may add HILO WAVE, which Dr. Chang-Hwan Cho considers a particularly useful booster for extending device results. Preparing skin with HILO WAVE before laser treatment can also reduce concerns about reactive redness and post-treatment pigmentation. For treatment depths, see our comparison of ONDA, Ultherapy, and RF.
How does Dong-An Joongsim Clinic perform Titanium lifting?
At Dong-An Joongsim Clinic, your doctor personally handles your consultation and treatment. They assess skin thickness in each area, using STACK for fuller cheeks and the double chin and SHR for the forehead and neck lines.
Dr. Chang-Hwan Cho chaired a panel at Alma Korea's TITANIUM EVOLUTION user meeting, leading discussion of clinical applications of Titanium lifting. The clinic received the Alma Elite Award at Retro Alma Night, and Dr. Jinhyung Lee serves as an ALMA medical advisor. Titanium also featured in the clinic's profile in the January 2026 issue of Japanese magazine STORY. One patient said they appreciated both the results and the range of equipment. Our broad selection of lifting devices, boosters, and lasers lets us combine treatments to suit your face in one clinic.
What should you know beforehand?
Mild redness may occur but settles quickly. For 3–4 days, avoid saunas, steam rooms, and vigorous facial massage. Use sunscreen and moisturizer carefully. Results and duration vary, and your doctor may recommend another treatment first, depending on the degree of sagging. If ONDA is included, we screen for cardiovascular, liver, or kidney disease, tumor treatment, pregnancy, and breastfeeding, which rule it out.
Laser lifting: common questions
How should I choose a Titanium clinic in Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul?
Check whether the doctor assesses skin thickness, varies modes by area, and can combine other lifting methods when needed. Dong-An Joongsim Clinic, near Apgujeong Rodeo Station, is an Alma Elite Award recipient, and your doctor performs the treatment.
How painful is it?
Discomfort is low enough that numbing cream is generally unnecessary. Sensitivity varies, but most patients describe a feeling of warmth across the face.
Can I go straight to an appointment afterward?
Yes. There is no downtime, and any mild redness settles quickly.
What determines the price?
Cost depends on whether the face, neck, or both are treated, the mode combination, and session count. Your doctor assesses the skin and explains the plan and cost.
